When you get to Puerto Morelos please take the right hand lane (sort of an access road.) After the PEMEX gas station, you'll pass two speed bumps and 500 mts (1/4 mile) ahead you will find a "Selvatica" sign. Take the curve to the right at the Selvatica sign; from this point you have to drive for 19 kilometers (12 miles) and then follow the signs on the right into the Selvatica park. Questions
about the tour
What is the difference between the Canopy Expedition and the Extreme Canopy Expedition?
The Extreme Canopy Expedition is basically “higher, faster and longer.” In other words it is the same as the Canopy Expedition except the zip lines are higher (by about 15 feet) which means they drop faster, so they must be longer. Which tour to take? It is your decision. If you are very adventuresome you may prefer the Extreme Canopy Expedition for the added “adrenaline rush”. If you are curious what a zip line tour is all about then the Canopy Expedition may be right for you.
The other difference is that the cenote – or sinkhole, that each tour goes to is different. Cenotes are all very individual and unique. Both cenotes are excellent and you will enjoy them both for swimming and just viewing.
What should I bring on the tour?
Light clothing is recommended. Also bring sunglasses and your bathing
suit for your swim in the cenote and a towel if you want too.
How high are the zip lines
on this tour?
The zip lines on this tour are about 49 feet or 15 meters above
the ground.
Please remember that as you zip along you will get lower to the
ground as you are gravity driven.
What is the maximum weight
to do the Zip line?
The maximum weight limit for the Zip line is 150 kilos or 330 pounds.
How old does a child need
to be to go alone and not be tethered to a guide?
Children must be 8 to go alone and un-accompanied by a guide.
Do I need extra cash?
You only need extra cash for extra refreshments and souvenirs.
How many guides
are there?
Every tour departs with two guides. One in front of the group and
one at the tail end of the group. On groups of 14 or more there
are 3 guides for the security and comfort of the clients.
Is there food?
Yes, a light lunch is served.
How high are the zip lines
above the jungle floor?
You will be on the zip lines approximately 15 to 20 feet (5 to 7
meters) above the jungle floor.
Will we see wild animals?
Yes with luck you will see jungle birds including parrots, spider
monkeys, white tailed deer and other local jungle animals.
Must I ride the mountain
bikes?
If you have no interest in the mountain bikes which you will ride
over flat terrain, as the entire Yucatan peninsula is flat, then
you will transported to the next activity in a vehicle.
Also parents with small children may desire to travel by vehicle
and not on the mountain bikes.
What is the terrain like
where we ride the bikes?
The entire Yucatan peninsula is flat and you will not be experiencing
any mountains.
You will generally be on roads and on some paths but conditions
will generally be good. Have no fear if you not an experienced mountain
biker or if you have not ridden a bike in a number of years.
Can I read review about
the tour on Trip Advisor?
The Selvatica’s Extreme Canopy Adventure is the number 2 rated tour on Trip
Advisor for the Cancun area. To read about it go toe www.tripadvisor.com and then in the search box type in Selvatica. There you will be
able to read some of the Recent reviews about the Selvatica’s Extreme Canopy Adventure and Adventure Tour.
Are the Zip lines safe?
The zip lines are extremely safe as all the equipment and the zip lines themselves are designed to carry several times the weight they actually carry.
Is the area where the Selvatica park is located safe?
The journey through the Mexican Yucatan Jungle to get to the Selvatica Park is quite safe as you will travel on main roads except for the last 2 miles.
You must remember that we pick you up at your hotel outside the lobby – transport you to the park, which is totally private, then transport you back to the lobby of your hotel. You are never left alone or are you placed in harms way.
